Guest Clinician 2021
Meredith Harris, performer, educator and viola enthusiast, lives, works and plays in the Greater Houston area and beyond. Originally from North Carolina, she decided to settle in Texas after completing her masters degree in viola performance with James Dunham at Rice University.
Not only a River Oaks Chamber Orchestra musician (ROCO), she is also a next generation alum artist of the Summer Chamber Music Institute held at East Carolina University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in violin performance with Ara Gregorian. Her other gigs include performances with Houston Grand Opera, Houston Symphony, Aperio, The Grand Teton Music Festival, Tanglewood, and the Kennedy Center Conservatory Project.
Meredith is very thankful for growing up in a musical environment, and as an adult has come to realize the great benefits of her Suzuki education and the support she received as a child. She has chosen to pay it forward by continually being involved as a volunteer with the Southeast Texas Suzuki Association (STXSA) here in Houston. She has served as 2018-2020 STXSA President and continues to serve on the STXSA Board. She maintains an active teaching studio and is a sought after clinician for Suzuki workshops and institutes around the country.
